What are special systems in commercial construction?
The low-voltage systems that run the modern building: structured cabling and the data network, access control and intrusion detection, video surveillance, audio/visual and paging, and specialty infrastructure like distributed-antenna (DAS) pathways — everything that isn't line-voltage power but still needs pathways, cable, and terminations done right.
Do you install structured cabling?
Yes. We install copper (Cat 6 and Cat 6A) and fiber backbone, build out MDF and IDF communications rooms, and terminate, test, and certify every run — labeled and documented so the IT team inherits a system they can actually manage.
Why use one contractor for both power and low voltage?
Because they share the ceiling. When one company runs both scopes, cable tray, sleeves, and backbone pathways are planned with the electrical rough-in instead of fighting it, boxes and power land where the devices actually go, and one schedule covers both trades. That's how we deliver it on our design-build projects.
Do you rough-in access control and security cameras?
Yes. We install card readers, electric locks, request-to-exit devices, and the cabling back to the controllers, coordinate the electrified door hardware, and run the pathways and PoE cabling that feed every camera position inside and out.
What does a server room or data closet need from the electrical contractor?
Dedicated circuits and clean power, UPS-backed receptacles, telecom grounding and bonding, racks and plywood backboards, and cooling that keeps up with the heat load — which our own HVAC team handles on the same contract.
Does Arizona's monsoon season affect low-voltage systems?
It can. Summer lightning and utility disturbances are hard on network gear and cameras. We install the surge protection and the dedicated grounding and bonding that give sensitive electronics a fighting chance — engineered into the design, not added as an afterthought.
