Four Arizona ROC licenses — one self-performing contractor
Our four active Arizona Registrar of Contractors licenses are what make true single-source design-build possible. Each of our self-performed disciplines is backed by its own classification — electrical, HVAC, engineering, and building — all held by one contractor, so the entire scope lives under licenses we hold ourselves rather than subcontracted out.

All four licenses are issued by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Licensing — Scope Detail
What the KA General Engineering license actually covers
“Engineering” in Arizona contractor licensing is the heavy-civil classification — it is what authorizes a company to build infrastructure, and it is earned by trade examination. It is separate from the professional engineering registration that lets someone seal drawings; where a project needs sealed drawings, we coordinate them. Our KA Dual Engineering license (ROC 312437) carries the commercial A — General Engineering scope, which the Arizona Administrative Code (R4-9-102) defines as constructing or repairing:

- Roads
- Power and utility plants
- Dams
- Hydroelectric plants
- Sewage and waste disposal plants
- Bridges
- Tunnels
- Overpasses
- Public parks
- Public right-of-ways
That same rule also carries the scopes of work allowed by A-4 through A-19. That is a range label, not sixteen trades — eleven classifications exist in it (there is no A-6, A-8, A-10, A-13 or A-18), and KA is a single license that carries all of them:

| A-11 | Steel and Aluminum Erection Architectural and structural steel and aluminum, reinforcing steel, and field layout, cutting, assembly and erection. |
| A-12 | Sewers, Drains and Pipe Laying Storm drains, water and gas lines, irrigation and sewers, sewer access holes, septic tanks and leach lines, with the related excavation and backfill. |
| A-14 | Asphalt Paving Asphalt paving and fine grading on streets, parking lots and driveways, including height adjustment of existing access holes, valves and cleanouts. |
| A-15 | Seal Coating Seal coating asphalt, crack repair, and painted markings and symbols. |

Why this matters on a bid. Most electrical contractors hold a specialty electrical license only. The CR-11 electrical classification stops at systems under 600 volts and does not reach public right-of-ways — so medium-voltage primary, utility-side distribution and work in the right-of-way sit outside it. Holding A-17 under our KA license is what lets the same company that terminates the gear also set the poles, pull the primary and build the duct bank, rather than handing that scope to a second contractor.
A-17 is transmission and distribution work, principally on public right-of-ways — it is not a substitute for the CR-11 electrical license that covers building systems, and we hold both.
