Trenching & Excavation

Open-cut trenching and excavation for utilities, foundations, and site infrastructure — self-performed with our own operators and owned Cat® equipment.

What We Provide

Trenching & Excavation — in detail

Open-cut trenching, mass excavation, and precision digs around live utilities — here is how our operators and our owned Cat fleet handle the dirt.

Trenching & Open-Cut Excavation

  • Open-cut trenching for utilities — We excavate trenches to line and grade for electrical, communications, water, sewer, and gas — sized to the conduit or pipe and sloped or shored for safe access.
  • Mass and structural excavation — We excavate for building foundations, equipment pads, and below-grade structures, hauling spoil and bringing the subgrade to the engineered elevation.
  • Precision and hand digging — Near existing utilities and structures we slow down — potholing, hand digging, and careful machine work to expose and protect what is already in the ground.

Equipment & Crews

  • Owned Cat® equipment fleet — Excavators, loaders, backhoes, and skid steers we own — so the right machine shows up on schedule without waiting on a rental yard or a markup.
  • Certified operators — Trained, certified operators run every machine, and a competent person oversees the excavation for safety.
  • Spoil handling and hauling — We manage spoil on site or haul it off, keeping the work area clean and the trench accessible for the crews behind us.

Locating & Trench Safety

  • Utility locating and potholing — Before the bucket breaks ground we locate existing utilities and pothole to verify their position — protecting crews and avoiding strikes.
  • Shoring, sloping, and trench boxes — We shore, slope, or bench excavations and use trench boxes as soil and depth require, with a competent person on site throughout.
  • Traffic control and protection — In the street or an active site we set the barricades, plating, and traffic control that keep the public and the crew safe.

The Design-Build Advantage

Designed, self-performed, and accountable

The crew that digs the trench and the crew that lays the conduit are on the same payroll, with Arizona 811 locates, shoring, and spoil handled by one company. The trench stays open for days, not weeks.
