What to have ready when you call

A service call goes faster — and costs less — when the first hour on site is diagnosis instead of discovery. Four things worth gathering before you book:

A photo of the panel

The panel with the door open, the breaker that tripped, and the directory if there is one. It tells us the manufacturer, vintage, and likely parts before anyone rolls — including whether we should be sourcing a breaker that hasn't been manufactured in twenty years.

What happened, and when

What tripped or went dark, whether it resets, and the pattern. Every afternoon points at heat and load; during monsoon storms points at surge or water intrusion; when a specific machine starts points straight at that circuit. The pattern is half the diagnosis.

What changed recently

New equipment, a tenant buildout, a storm, utility work on the street, a trip that got reset and forgotten last month. Electrical faults usually follow a change, and knowing what changed can save hours of diagnostic time you would otherwise pay for.

Access and constraints

How fast can you get an electrician on site?

We run scheduled service calls during business hours, Monday through Friday — tell us the symptom when you book and we'll fit urgent calls into the earliest slot. Our crews start at 6 a.m., so the first slot of the day is earlier than most contractors answer their phones. We are deliberately not a 24/7 emergency dispatcher, and we won't pretend to be one. If equipment is actively arcing, smoking, or burning, shut it off at the disconnect if you can do so safely and call 911 first — then call us for the repair.

Do you do residential electrical repairs?

A breaker keeps tripping. What will you actually do about it?

Measure before replacing. A breaker trips for one of a few reasons — overload, short circuit, ground fault, heat, or a breaker that has itself failed — and each leaves different evidence. We record the load on the circuit, thermal-image the connection points, isolate sections of the circuit, and megger conductors or motors where insulation is suspect. Then we fix the cause. Swapping the breaker without the measurements just resets the clock on the same failure.

Can you troubleshoot without shutting the building down?

Mostly, yes — and some of it actually requires the building running, because thermal imaging only shows a heating termination when there is load on it. Diagnosis happens live where it is safe to work that way; repairs that need an outage get scheduled for a window your operation agrees to, and you hear about it before, not after.
